Prof. Dr. Duygu Özel Demiralp was born in Ankara, 1977. She graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology. She took her master’s degree at Ankara University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pediatric Molecular Genetics and PhD degree at Ankara University, Biotechnology Institute. She worked as a research fellow at Harvard Medical School, in the Laboratory for Translational Research. She became assitant professor in 2008, and associate professor in 2011. She received many scientific awards and has many national and international memberships of scientific associations. She has been involved in many projects granted from TÜBİTAK, NIH and universities scientific research units. Her research interests mainly focused on the interactions between thrombosis, obesity and cancer. She has published many research papers, participated many national and international congress as an invited speaker. She is currently working as a Full Professor at Ankara University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Biomedical Engineering. She is married and has a son.
