DAY1 İstanbul – İznik Haghia Sophia Church, Süleyman Pasha Madrasah, Tile Workshops, Lefke Gate , İznik Museum, Iznik Green Mosque, Senate Building, Bursa, Cumalıkızık Village
Departure will be at 09:00 in the morning from your hotel and we’ll drive to İznik. We’ll go to Yalova by ferry from Eskihisar. After approximately a one-hour journey, we’ll reach to Iznik. We’ll visit Süleyman Pasha Madrasah in İznik, the tile workshops, the excavation area uncovered from the antique period, and the Lefke gate, which is one of the sections that survive to date from the old city walls. We will see another important historical building, the Hagia Sophia Church, where the Second Council of Nicaea was convened in 787. Nilufer Hatun İmareti (soup kitchen), the İznik Museum and the İznik Green mosque, remains of the Senate Building will be within a panoramic tour, and we’ll leave İznik. Our next stop is Cumalıkızık Village, which has not lost its historical texture since the Ottoman times. Cumalıkızık village has a 700 years history and located 20 km away from Bursa city center. We’ll see the “Cin Aralığı” street, ethnography museum and old traditional houses in the village. You can shop at the peasant market and photograph authentic buildings in your free time. We’ll drive to Bursa city center and we’ll reach to our hotel. Accommodation and dinner will be at the hotel.
DAY2 Tophane Park, Clock Tower, Ulucami Mosque, Bursa City Museum, Green Tomb, Green Mosque, Grand Bazaar – İstanbul
Our trip will start with a visit to Osman (Ottoman) Bey’s and his son Orhan (Orkhan) Bey’s tombs, who were the founders of the Ottoman Empire. Then we’ll be enjoying our Turkish coffees while looking at Bursa from Tophane. We’ll visit Ulucami, which is one of the Ottoman’s early period mosques and then we’ll have free time for the Bursa Grand Bazaar. We’ll observe urban culture with visual expressions to see how Bursa Silkroad trade revitalize old tradesmen and bazaars at the Ethnography museum. In the Green neighborhood where it took his name, we’ll see the Green Tomb and the Green Mosque. We’ll take photographs at the Irgandı Bridge. After some free time, we’ll start our journey back to İstanbul…
